Or else I get a planeticket across the Atlantic.Good luck with the editing and postproduction.

I have pretty much come to the realization that things will never slow down and I will never be able to stop, catch my breath and have a moment for myself. Not anytime soon. Everytime I think it is going to slow down, more stuff gets piled up on my plate. Luckily, yummy stuff
.
I've been going pedal to the metal for three years now. RPM revving in the red... How long can my engine keep going like this? How long until a complete melt down??
Everything else has gone to shit: My back yard looks like a jungle again. I have not had a chance to clean my house since the wrap party last August. Can't remember when was the last time I took my dogs for a walk
(neither can they - but then again, since they are dogs and dogs have no long term memory, that's not saying much HA!)
... My bills are piling up, my bed is undone, I look like I've been hit by a bus (repeatedly) and my truck still has dust on it from El Mirage shoots done 4 months ago.
In short, when it comes to my personal life, this is a complete debacle.
Me, usually so clean... So organized... So together...
So where are we at with the film? I am once again behind with blogging. Guess not even me can do it ALL. But I will cover each shoot, and track back, don't worry cause I want to keep a good record of how I made this amazing film. But for now, we have to keep moving forward, cause time doesn't stop for anyone (not even ME
...
Filmed for three whole days Friday - Sat - Sun and lived to tell the tale (soon)... Now back to editing around the clock. My body is in a state of shock, from lack of sleep and extended hours spent with extreme focus while editing. I am not lacking food though, now that I am not filming that much, and if anything I'm gonna have to watch my weight cause editing will make you pack the pounds fast
...
This week I have my LAST OFFICIAL SHOOT
.
SAY WHAT???????????????????????????????????????
Yeah yeah, you heard me: This week I have my last official shoot. It's happening Wednesday after work and will not 'take long', it's just a single shot. One single shot that will last about 3 seconds on the screen and is going to take about 6 hours to pull off. That's filmmaking for you.
Cracks me up when I hear people gossip behind my back at Bob's (yeah, we hear you guys, cause even parking lots have EARS
) and they say:
"Oh, that's that girl who's making the movie: It's taking her FOR-EVER to finish it"
Amazing how ignorant people are.
If they spent ONE day (just ONE), on a set with me, they'd eat their words. But all they know is to sit on their fat ass, shoving butter saturated pop corn down their throat while watching other people's flicks, having no clue what it takes to make one.. Yet they are expert talkers... Yeah... You know the kind
...
You must wonder how I feel about having my LAST shoot wednesday.
I am wondering myself. I am happy on one hand because I am really wiped, my body is beat to shit, my knees are both injured and I am hurting. I am crying for mercy. A BREAK LORD PLEEEEASE.
But when I do finally get that break, I am going to feel SOOO strange. Maybe empty. Maybe a bit scared that the adventure is over...
Or perhaps it is only begining?
Meanwhile, over the last few days I have been asked to be interviewed as a cinematographer on a nice Film Blog. A mere 48 hours later, I am asked to be interviewed for a book
. That's cool. I have a lot of stories to tell, God knows
.
I then get a French magazine, my car is in it and the editor is flying to LA and wanting to conduct a big interview with me and do a feature on the film and the deuce itself. We might be heading out to El Mirage for that.
I then get a copy of a UK magazine covering the Rhythm Riot (a HUGE UK 50's show that attracts participants from all over Europe), and they did a very nice Blurb about the film in it. Deuce of Spades will be present at the Rhythm Riot and UK hotrodders will be first to see some never before released scenes, including the famous Saugus Dragstrip scene
... NO, I will not be screening the film there, it is not ready yet.
As you can see things are shakin' here, and it makes all this hard work more bearable.
Saturday, very private screening at my home for a select 25 people. The first ever to see the film. My Guinea Pigs
... I hope to get their feedbacks to finalize some edits before the larger Test Screening on October 24th.
Meanwhile, My Puter fried this morning. A fatal power surge. It only took one instant and left me with a huge aftermath that will take hours (if not days) to clean up. I am completely DOWN and don't even want to think about it cause it makes me so MAAAAD...
... I decided to take a deep breath and simply tell myself:
"I'll be just fine!"
Hopefully I can get back up tonight and resume editing so I can finish the film in time.
Wish me luck. (a little praying would be welcome too!!)
Below: Tired enough to sleep in this uncomfortable position, in the parking lot of Bob's Big Boy last Friday. And yes, i AM really sound asleep in this photo. Leave it to sneaky Jerry to snap a quick shot of this epic and glamourous moment
